The London Wetland Centre has announced the launch of Duck Bike, a new way to arrive at the centre. Those travelling by Duck Bike to the centre will receive half price entry.
Duck Bikes are available for hire in Hammersmith and Fulham from street based rental stations located at key sites such as tube stations, public buildings, major transport interchanges and car parks, see location map. There is a location point at the London Wetland Centre where bikes can be left.
Duck Bikes are part of collaboration between the London Wetland Centre and OYBike, winner of the Transport 2005 Innovation Category. OYBike launched their bike rental system in summer 2004. The company plan to expand the scheme across London and in other major towns and cities in the UK.
Martin Senior, Marketing and Communications Manager for the London Wetland Centre said: ‘The London Wetland Centre is delighted to be supporting an initiative that promotes the use of sustainable transport. We very much hope that people will take advantage of this offer.”
Those wishing to hire a duck bike simply need to visit www.oybike.com for a list of locations. You can register to use a bike by phone or on the web. Once you have registered it is possible to hire Duck Bikes from around Hammersmith and Fulham to ride to the centre.
