We are pleased to be able to announce that on week commencing 17 April 2006 there will be a major improvement in the renting and returning of an OYBike to a rental station.
Firstly the code you give us is now reduced to 11 characters.
The code we give to you to release is now reduced to 6 characters or less.
To return an OYBike to a rental station no code is required to open the lock, the chosen lock/port is opened by pressing the red lock shaped button (no lights display) the light buzzing sound indicates opening for the cable .
The termination code still appears in the rental stations display and you will have to call the number to the call centre, to terminate the hire.
To enable these changes to take place the system will be operational on both systems until 22 April 2006.
We do apologise for any inconvenience caused by this short duality of service.
We look forward to seeing you have a better and faster experience in renting your OYBike.
To start the hire:
Subscriber selects bike they wish to hire
Subscriber calls OYBike control centre, an operator will answer their call.
They will be prompted to read the number which is displayed on the OYBike docking station.
This number will be decoded and a simple authorisation check will be made.
A release code will then be given back to the user allowing them to enter it into the OYBike docking station to release the bicycle.
Hire commences.
To end the hire:
Subscriber will find an empty port at any OYBike rental station and plug the bike into the port.
The Subscriber will call the OYBike control centre and provide end of hire confirmation code displayed on OYBike docking station.
Hire ends.
