In your City

Would you like a cycle hire system in your city?

Many Town and County Councils are interested in having a cycle hire scheme in their area. Councils are slow to act if they don’t have an overriding political will for the scheme however – consequently the UK is lagging behind the rest of Europe and the world in the introduction of cycle hire schemes for urban populations.
If you would like to have the ability to use OYBikes to travel around your city, help us gain the momentum we need to influence your Council’s decision by clicking the button below and we will collate the responses.
The UK map on this page will be updated with numbers of people who have voted for a system in their area and will show how important this extra part of the public transport system is.
Please also go to your Council’s web site and send an email to either the cycling officer or to the Transport team in general, saying you would welcome a cycle hire scheme for you to use. Visit the ‘Transport & Streets’ page on your Council’s web site, then select ‘Cycling’ from there. This should give you a contact email for the cycling officer.
