As London prepares to launch its first bike hire scheme (from 30 July), Cardiff commuters and visitors are already benefiting from OYBike, Wales’ own established scheme.
With over 10 locations across the city centre (and more planned over July and August), OYBike offers the people of Cardiff an alternative mode of travel.
“The health and fitness benefits of cycling are already known”, says Bernie Hanning, OYBike Managing Director. “In addition, the people of Cardiff can also enjoy a commute or sightseeing trip that is environmentally friendly, fun and convenient. At OYBike we want everyone to share our passion for the advantages of two wheels over four”.
In London, the scheme is rapidly becoming the “Barclays’ scheme” due to the sponsorship of Barclays Bank. The international bank recognises the chance to show their environmental credentials as well as advertise in the Capital. In Cardiff the OYBike scheme is currently sponsored by Cardiff City Council, through their Cardiff Bike scheme. However, local businesses, who also want to support their community and have a “Barclays’ scheme” of their own, should contact OYBike on the number below.
